Summary

The Peace Promise is a set of common commitments of humanitarian, development and peacebuilding actors to simultaneously deliver humanitarian assistance, ensure conflict-sensitivity and synergies in programmes and address the drivers of violent conflict. It has been endorsed by 30 UN entities and non-governmental organizations and was coordinated by the UN Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO). The Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson launched The Peace Promise at a side event at the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul on 23 May 2016.
