Take concrete steps to improve compliance and accountability

Joint Commitment

Core Commitment

  • What led your organization to make the commitment?

As lawyers, through our practice, we are called to actions that have a positive impact on the people and communities associated with our activities. We have a significant role to play in advocating and building awareness of the concept of corporate citizenship. Law is an arena in which fundamental questions about the nature of rights and justice confront the realities of the social world: it is the challenge of bringing rights and realities together. Commitments have been made to change behavior through policy and policy through behavior.

  • Achievements at a glance

    - Listing the cross-section of local areas to be compared with the results of previous analysis
    - Starting the work 'from the idea to the reality to the action'

  • How is your organization assessing progress

Following the indicators already used to communicate progress within participation in United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)

  • Challenges faced in implementation

Present global uncertainty and fragility have resulted in a peculiar challenge: the indexes commonly used have not been giving a full picture so that there has been the need to go beyond, also embracing the call made by United Nations 65/309 resolution “Happiness: towards a holistic approach to development”

  • Next step to advance implementation in 2017

    - Providing a platform of knowledge for the assessment of tools for the progression and the individuation of innovative instruments
    - Supplying webinars, online briefings, closed-door meetings and working-sessions, in order to give operational methods and models for the practical step-by-step feasibility analysis

  • If you had one message for the annual report on what is most needed to advance the transformation 'Take concrete steps to improve compliance and accountability', what would it be
